An environment where children learn to love learning

Our Preschool offers an all-day programme for children from the age of one. Our youngest students, aged 1-5, learn in a historic villa at Goetheallee 18 in the green Blasewitz district.

Our site runs a Preschool Programme (age 1-3). We begin the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for the groups of 3-5-year-olds. Our programme focuses on play-based inquiry, discovery and interaction with the children’s environment. Children ages 5-6 attend lessons at our School Campus in Dresden-Altstadt. To aid them in meeting new age-appropriate challenges following the PYP, they gain access to the sports hall, atelier and library.

Open House

Internationale Kindertagesstätte ab 1 Jahr

The best way to learn more about DIS Preschool is to come and see it for yourself! Throughout the school year, we will host several Open House events. Tour our campus, visit classrooms, meet teachers, and see an overview of the preschool and curriculum. Administrators and faculty will be on hand to meet you and answer questions. Reservations are not required but very welcome. Please RSVP to admissions@dresden-is.de or 4400716. Our Open Houses are designed to inform parents; your children are also very welcome. We look forward to seeing you!

Preschool Campus

The DIS Preschool facilities have been modified to provide excellent conditions for meeting the needs of our youngest students, as well as their parents’ expectations. Located directly on the beautiful Waldpark at Goetheallee 18, our preschool has well-equipped classrooms, a well-resourced library and a cafeteria, where hot meals are provided daily. Additionally there is a specialised sports room situated in the basement of the villa. The preschool also has a playground for the children.

Parent Coffee Mornings

Several times per year parents are invited to an open discussion forum with the School Director, Primary School Principal, and the Coordinator of the Preschool. This is a good opportunity to get to know other parents as well as voice feedback directly to school administrators.

Parenting Classes

Parenting classes are offered twice per year to parents in the preschool (September and January). The class meets once a week for several weeks to learn and practice parenting strategies. This is also a good place to meet and develop relationships with other parents.
